9th Annual Fiesta De Reyes Cinco De Mayo Folklórico Festival
Dancers from throughout Southern California and some from as far away as Sacramento and Las Vegas have competed for the past eight years in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park at the Annual Fiesta de Reyes Cinco de MayoFolklórico Competition.
This year, the event, to be held over the Cinco de Mayo weekend, is expanding to include dance troupes from Mexico and throughout the Western United States.
Renowned judges from Mexico include Humberto Olivera Caballero, Jorge Luis Miramontes and Cecilio Cordero Loaiza.
The competition is free for the public to attend and will take place in the central plaza of Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Children and adult performances alternate throughout the day.
In addition, the state park will showcase children’s activities, including historic games, crafts, displays and demonstrations as well as street performers throughout the park.
