Japandroids, Craig Finn & The Uptown Controllers
Japandroids are a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, consisting of Brian King (guitar, vocals) and David Prowse (drums, vocals).
Craig Finn is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best known as the frontman of the American indie rock band The Hold Steady, with whom he has recorded six studio albums. Prior to forming The Hold Steady, Finn was the frontman of Lifter Puller. Described by Pitchfork as “a born storyteller who’s chosen rock as his medium”. During a five-month break from The Hold Steady, Finn recorded a solo album, Clear Heart Full Eyes, which was released in January 2012, and released a second solo album, Faith in the Future, in 2015. He has also been involved in a number of side-projects.
Perhaps best known as the singer of The Hold Steady, Craig Finn is a Minnesota-bred singer/songwriter and guitarist based in New York City. Finn’s highly descriptive lyrical style has a focus on narrative, crafting whole worlds for the people in his songs to exist within. In 1994, he helped form Lifter Puller, refining his craft over the course of their three albums before the band called it quits in 2000.
