Add Rooftop Cinema Club To Your List Of “Must-Dos” This Halloween Season

Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero at the Manchester Grand Hyatt is carving up a full month of Tricks and Treats and it’s a definite must-do for anyone looking to get out and enjoy Halloween this year in San Diego. With screenings seven nights a week in October and more than 40 Halloween and horror titles on the lineup, there’s something for everyone this Spooky Season.

Throughout the month of October, RCC Embarcadero will screen Halloween-themed films and the venue itself will be decked out in Hocus Pocus-themed décor, paying homage to its most-popular film of the season. The Halloween Month slate at Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero will include costume contests, a Witches Weekender, Wooftop Puppyween, Hocus Pocus Madness and lots more.

A full rundown of all activities

People’s Choice: Best Horror Sequel | October 21

Oct. 21 is “People’s Choice Night” at Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero and RCC is giving its devoted attendees the choice of which horror movie sequel they’d like to see on the Rooftop. Choices include Aliens, Scream 2, Doctor Sleep, Happy Death Day 2U, A Quiet Place Part II, and Halloween II.

RCC fans can cast their ballots HERE through Oct. 6 and the winning film will be announced Oct. 7.

Witches Weekender Costume Party | October 22-23

For the penultimate Halloween weekend in October (Oct. 22-23), RCC Embarcadero is mixing a secret potion of movies that feature the most fun, scary, and awesome witches, and every screening in the series is a costume party!

Films in the can include Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus, The Craft and more, and every guest who shows up in costume will receive Halloween treats on the house and there will be a contest before each film with even more prizes for the best dressed!

Wooftop Puppyween | October 16 & 29

Rooftop Cinema Club’s immensely-popular, dog-friendly Wooftop screenings are getting a special spooky makeover. For all Wooftops in October, guests can bring their furry friends in costume and they too will receive a special treat, and additional prizes will be awarded to the best dressed pups.

Wooftop Puppyween films include Hocus Pocus on Oct. 1, Edward Scissorhands on Oct. 16, and Death Becomes Her on Oct. 29.

Hocus Pocus Madness | October 30

Over the years watching Hocus Pocus during the Halloween season has become a tradition, so this year Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero is dedicating a whole day to screenings of the modern classic on Sunday, Oct. 30.

Halloween at RCC Embarcadero will be a treat in and of itself. San Diego’s most-popular outdoor cinema is serving up a double dose of Halloween classics on All Hallows Eve with screenings of the family-favorite Halloweentown and, of course, the chilling slasher Halloween.

The Ring 20th Anniversary | October 6

The terrifying psychological horror movie that made everyone scared to watch VHS tapes is turning 20 this year and on Oct. 6, RCC Embarcadero will celebrate The Ring in all its scary glory with a special anniversary screening on the Rooftop.

I Know What You Did Last Summer 25th Anniversary | October 24

It’s been 25 years since I Know What You Did Last Summer cemented itself among the most-watched ’90s slasher hits and Rooftop Cinema Club will celebrate its big screen anniversary on Oct. 24. Housing a quartet of almost and soon-to-be young stars, this scary tale of revenge hasn’t lost any of its potency since it hit screens all those years ago and there’s no better place to see it than outside under the stars and the moon at Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero.

Nope | October 25 & 29

A new addition to the RCC film queue, Jordan Peele’s latest terror film, Nope, will screen October 25 and 29. With a genre-melding storyline starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, this recent release is a must-see on the Rooftop with the backdrop of the San Diego nighttime sky.
