San Diego Design Week Returns To ‘Celebrate Design In All its Forms’
The 3rd annual San Diego Design Week 2022 (SDDW) kicks off across the San Diego/Tijuana region, bringing together designers, performers, chefs, and other creatives from across San Diego-Tijuana to celebrate design in all forms.
Presented by Mingei International Museum, San Diego Design Week runs from September 21 to September 25. You’ll have the opportunity to meet some of the biggest local names in design, try out local cuisine, and explore local, interactive exhibits across the bi-national region.
San Diego Design Week 2022 highlights
Events include a walking tour of Tijuana’s top design hot spots, studio tours, exclusive exhibits, mezcal tasting, and chances to meet multi-disciplinary creatives like Leon Goodrum of Heron Hues; pastry chefs, Arely Chavez and Letha Gimble; Brazilian-American artist, Yomar Agusto; representatives of Mingei International Museum; and other local artists across disciplines and cultures.
San Diego Design Week is a member of World Design Weeks, a network that includes Design Weeks across the world. San Diego and Tijuana were also named World Design Capital 2024, the first binational recognition of its kind, for their commitment to human-centered design and a long legacy of cross-border collaboration.
This year’s San Diego Design Week is a cross-border opportunity for visitors to see how these two cities’ histories influence local design.
