Rock the Flight Deck This 4th of July: Classic Hits, Big Bay Boom & America’s 250th
There are Fourth of July plans, and then there are those Fourth of July plans – the kind worth putting on the calendar the moment you hear about them. This year, one of the most exciting events is the World Classic Rockers USS Midway Museum celebration.
This year, the USS Midway Museum is hosting a benefit concert and fireworks celebration that checks every box: iconic live music, one of the best views of San Diego’s Big Bay Boom, and a cause worth raising a glass to.

The Band on Deck
Headlining the night are the World Classic Rockers – a group made up of former members of Journey, Boston, Santana, Steppenwolf, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. That’s not a tribute act lineup, that’s a greatest hits catalog brought to life by the people who helped write it.
We’re talking “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “More Than a Feeling,” “Evil Ways” – the songs that still hit just as hard decades later. Performed live on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier under the open sky, it’s a hard setting to top.

More Than a Concert
Beyond the music and fireworks, this event carries real weight. Net proceeds go toward Freedom Park at Burnham Navy Pier – set to be the largest park on the West Coast dedicated to veterans and active military. So the evening doubles as a way to mark America’s 250th anniversary with something that means something.
