Memorial Day Weekend is right around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to order up food and cocktails from one of our amazing restaurants! Here are a few ideas for a celebratory meal from one of San Diego hot-spots that are open for takeout and delivery:


Newly reopened for to-go and take out services, barleymash, is offering three signature BBQ packages to help you make the most of Memorial Day. Package options range from $149-$349 and include an entree, sides and beverages. All orders must be placed by Friday, May 22nd
at noon, and will be available for pick up on Sunday, May 24th and Monday, May 25th. Choose from the following:

Farmer’s Table

Get your brunch fix this Memorial Day Weekend with takeout from Farmer’s Table’s La Mesa and Bay Park locations, and try your hand at their weekend bloody mary special, the Pizza Mary. This grab-n-go libation is topped with garlic knots, pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, marinara and pickled veg, and will be available May 22nd – 24th!

Union Kitchen & Tap Encinitas

Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with takeout from Union Kitchen & Tap Encinitas, where they’ll be open from May 22nd – 24th with mouthwatering options and signature creations perfect for the occasion. Grab a family-style Smoked BBQ Platter for two, four, or eight people, including your choice of pulled pork, smoked brisket, or a whole chicken, plus any two sides from a selection of Union Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, Baked Beans, Baby Kale Slaw and Potato Salad. Other offerings on the menu include apps such as Watermelon Salad and Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese, as well as an assortment of a la carte options.

The Smoking Gun

Swing by The Smoking Gun for all of your to-go BBQ needs this Memorial Day. The downtown eatery will offer a specialty The Show Must Go On BBQ Menu, featuring a la cart entrees and sides prepared to serve 8-10 people. Options include Smoked Brisket, made with house chili rub and served with bread, pickles and BBQ sauce, and four racks of the House Smoked Ribs, slow-cooked in bacon fat. Guests can also add on 32 oz. comfort sides including House-made Mac Salad, Coleslaw, Baked Beans and Corn Bread, for $10-$15.


All Tajima locations will offer signature Ramen Kits for Memorial Day weekend. The to-go kits will be available Friday, May 22nd through Monday, May 25th and priced at $43. All kits include chilled ingredients and step by step instructions to create your very own signature Tajima Ramen right at home. Ingredients include original Tonkotsu broth, uncooked noodles, pork chashu, half ramen egg, bok choy, green onions, fried garlic, sesame seeds and spices. Tajima will also include a free serving of house-made Mango Sake alongside all kit orders. Orders can be placed online or by phone, and can also be delivered through third-party delivery apps.

Ranch 45

Ranch 45, known for their excellent beef that is locally-raised without hormones or antibiotics from Brandt Beef is stocked for Memorial Day grilling. Their Butcher’s Case has everything from burger patties (4, 8oz patties) and beef hot dogs to meaty back ribs and NY strips ready for the grill. Ranch 45 also has a full menu of Memorial Day take-out offerings including smoked ribs, cheese and meat platters, hamburger sliders by the dozen, and family meal boxes like The Brand Meaty Back Ribs box (serves 4) and comes with local corn, roasted potatoes, garlic bread, and housemade BBQ sauce.

Ranch 45’s menu features house-made, locally sourced items for breakfast and lunch (they added dinner two nights a week since the stay-at-home order began) served at the all-day casual cafe. Memorial Day goodies can be picked up Saturday and Sunday or before as Ranch 45 will be closed on Monday.

Del Mar’s Rubio’s Offers Military & Veterans Free BOGO Meal on Memorial Day

This Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, Rubio’s Coastal Grill invites military and veterans to enjoy one free adult entree, with the purchase of another entree. Simply bring military ID and show the coupon.

Del Mar’s Rubio’s Coastal Grill is also featuring Family Weekend Deals – two entrees for $15, or four entrees for $30. Guests simply enter the coupon code when ordering through the app or online here, or scan the QR code for in-store orders, Friday, May 22 – Monday, May 25.
Operations at Rubio’s have shifted greatly due to COVID-19. While food safety and cleanliness have always been a top priority at Rubio’s, new initiatives include tamper-proof seals on all delivery orders, daily health checks for all team members, protective face coverings and gloves, extensive sanitizing and disinfecting of restaurants, strict social distancing protocols inside and outside, and contact-free curbside or express pickup and delivery.
