Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant Celebrates 50th Anniversary
A longtime dining destination for locals of all ages and from every walk of life, Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant will celebrate 50 years in San Diego at its historic location in Kensington.
Founded in September 1969 and still family-owned and operated, Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant will mark the special occasion with a 300-person day-long ticketed festival in the outdoor lot adjacent to the Kensington restaurant – and as is the case with all Ponce’s efforts, everyone in the community is invited!
Ponce’s anniversary celebration will mimic a parillada, or Mexican cookout, featuring unlimited amounts of fans’ favorite Ponce’s street tacos cooked on an outdoor grill. Enjoy a beer garden serving the restaurant’s signature margaritas, a signature beer brewed especially for this occasion by Fall Brewing Company and more.
Live mariachi and a local favorites B-Side Players will play throughout the day, and families are welcome to get in on the festivities with corn hole, face painting, a bounce castle and balloon animals. San Diego brands who have grown alongside Ponce’s throughout the years will also be present with samples and giveaways, including Lurkville Skateboards, Chikle, Don Wapo Hot Sauce, Lynt Clothing, and Flying Panther Tattoo.
Congrats to the Ponce’s family – cheers to another 50 years!
See you there!
