Luckily, San Diego eateries are offering some festive Thanksgiving specials that give us all something to be grateful for. Whether you’re feeling traditional or a little adventurous…there is something for everyone.
Pacific Beach AleHouse and Backyard Kitchen & Tap
Pacific Beach AleHouse and Backyard Kitchen & Tap will both offer a three-course Thanksgiving feast, priced at $31.95 or $36.95 per person if you upgrade to their Prime Rib option, plus kids can get their own meal priced at $17.95! Menu items include Roasted Kabocha Squash Bisque with crispy shallot and rosemary oil, as well as your choice of Deep-Fried Turkey Breast, Pineapple and Clove-Glazed Ham, Fried Turkey Leg, Impossible Vegan Meatloaf with mushroom gravy, or 10-oz. Herb-Roasted Prime Rib with au jus and creamy horseradish – all of which are served with persimmon apple sausage stuffing, whipped Yukon gold potato, sage gravy, cranberry-orange relish, brussels sprouts with balsamic glaze and a dinner roll.
Featured dessert options include Roasted Pumpkin Bread Pudding, Dark Chocolate Pecan Cobbler and Vegan Apple Cobbler. Family packs will also be available for purchase, complete with Kabocha Squash Soup, California Golden Salad, dinner rolls, four pounds of protein – Ham, Turkey or Meatloaf – plus Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Cranberry-Orange Relish, and one dessert of your choice, all priced at $149.95 and equipped with enough food to serve parties of four to six. Farm-to-neighborhood eatery located on Park Boulevard is ready to give your Thanksgiving a Sicilan twist showcasing dishes from Executive Chef Marco Provino. Pre-order your dinner to enjoy at home, with a take-out menu that includes Turkey, Sweet Corn, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing + Cranberry Sauce with ordering options available from 2-10 people, ranging in price from $65-$200. Add-ons include Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Lobster Lasagna and Traditional Lasagna. Guests can also dine on the restaurant’s beautiful al-fresco patio or indoor dining room and enjoy a Thanksgiving Menu for $55 per person and $25 per kid, available Thanksgiving Day from 4PM to 10PM.
The 3-course menu will include Antipasti options like a Pumpkin Squash Sage Ravioli, Butternut Squash Soup, Main Course dishes including Turkey, Short Ribs over Polenta and Dessert including Apple Pie a la Mode with ice cream or Limoncello Cake. Head over to Leucadia’s favorite sandwich shop, Moto Deli, and pick up the crowd pleasing Turketta Sandwich ($12) made with house smoked turkey breast, bacon, avocado, mostarda and moto spread on squaw bread. You can enjoy the sandwich out on Moto Deli’s expansive outdoor patio which is outfitted with heaters, with a beer in hand. Or, get it to go and take it to the beach for a picnic or to the comfort of your own home.
Madison on Park
To start off your Thanksgiving meal, neighborhood gem Madison on Park offers a Mediterranean and Southern California-inspired menu including the new Harvest Salad ($14) made with roasted butternut squash, spinach, corn, brussel sprouts, bacon, gouda, and golden balsamic vinaigrette. The salad can be enjoyed at the restaurant for dine-in Tuesday – Sunday from 5:00pm to 9:30pm, or is also available for takeout or delivery to be enjoyed at home.
Craft & Commerce
Little Italy’s Craft & Commerce knows that sides are what make-or-break your Thanksgiving meal, and their Buttermilk Biscuits are up to the challenge. The perfect southern-style side to complement your turkey, mashed potatoes, and gravy, the Buttermilk Biscuits are served with honey butter and fruit preserve, allowing you to customize your savory to sweet ratio. Available daily, the biscuits can be enjoyed during dinner from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, and as part of Craft & Commerce’s weekend brunch (10AM – 2PM) in the Biscuits and Gravy, and as part of the Breakfast Board.
Mustangs & Burros
While turkey is the obvious star of the show on Thanksgiving, it wouldn’t be anything without the supporting roles of delicious sides. Located at the beautiful Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, Mustangs & Burros has got your greens covered. Try their Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($11) made with balsamic glaze, cotija and crushed chilies.
Pho Ca Dao
San Diego’s neighborhood Vietnamese kitchen located in the heart of Mission Valley, features an expanded menu from the other Pho Ca Dao & Grill restaurants, offering a full bar program with a variety of specialty cocktails. The PHO-Get Me Not is crafted with Rum, OJ, Pineapple, Coconut, Ginger, Star Anise, a fall flavored cocktail with a Vietnamese twist using many of the spices that are in Pho. Reinforcing the restaurant’s devotion to honoring Vietnamese culture, this drink pairs well with the restaurant’s various Pho offerings, offering a unique addition to any Thanksgiving dinner straight from the Huynh Family.

Situated on 10 acres between San Diego’s seaside villages of La Jolla and Del Mar, Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa has two different offerings for Thanksgiving. For those looking to escape to an hacienda-style retreat and be hosted rather than host, Greenfinch Restaurant at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa will be offering a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with a Greenfinch twist from 1PM – 7PM on Thanksgiving day.
Indulge with a 24-hour brined turkey with giblet gravy, traditional stuffing and cranberry chutney. Plus, enjoy traditional sides and desserts including pumpkin pie and pecan-chocolate bread pudding with vanilla anglaise. Or, for those that’d prefer to enjoy a delicious meal in the comfort of their own home, they can opt for the family style Thanksgiving to-go which serves four people, costs $240 and includes turkey and gravy, seven different sides and two desserts.
The Gluten Free Baking Co.
If anyone with food allergies is joining you for Thanksgiving, look no further than The Gluten Free Baking Co. The North Park bakery is offering everything from your traditional Pumpkin Pie and Pecan Pie (made gluten free of course) to other items also made gluten free like Pasta, Multigrain Dinner Rolls, Stuffing Mix, Quiche, Mini Banana Bread Loaves and so much more. Additionally, if you want to bake your own pie at home but are having trouble finding an allergen-free pie crust, The Gluten Free Baking Co. is also selling Vegan Pie Crust Dry Mix and Vegan Frozen Pie Crust (bottom crust ONLY). Pretend you’re on a holiday trip to Europe and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at Valentina Restaurant in Leucadia. The European-inspired bistro and wine bar’s outdoor patio transports diners to Spain and France, where they’ll be offering a three course dinner menu for $55 on Thanksgiving day as well as a $15 kids turkey dinner. From 12Pm to 8PM, Valentina Restaurant will be serving delicious turkey-day eats like Yellow Corn Soup (V) with smoked corn, roasted poblano and vanilla bean oil, Chef’s Thanksgiving Plate with dark and light meat turkey, mashed potatoes, herb stuffing, bacon green beans, glazed acorn squash, cranberry sauce, and sage gravy and Traditional Pumpkin Pie with vanilla whipped cream.
Bub’s @ the Beach
Gorge on all of your Turkey Day favorites at Bub’s @ the Beach this Thanksgiving from 9AM to 4PM, and enjoy their Turkey Dinner Plate, priced at $12 and touting a hearty serving of turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, cranberries and a dinner roll, plus Fuego’s famous stuffing waffle!
Under the helm of James Beard Award winning Chef Nate Appleman, the Puffer Malarkey Collective’s Animae will be offering a three-course unconventional Thanksgiving menu. The menu will include offerings such as Milk Bread Shrimp Toast, Shaved Cabbage Salad, Roasted Duck, and Roasted Young Chicken. To complement the menu, each meal will incorporate a variety of sides, including Animae Bao Buns with Miso Butter, Truffled Egg Fried Rice, Adobo Glazed Sweet Potatoes, and Green Beans with Crispy Shallots and Chili Jam.
Dessert options include Pumpkin Shortbread with Lemon Curd, Miso, and Sweetened Condensed Ice Cream and Toasted Jasmine & Vanilla Rice Cream served with Chewy Chocolate, Sesame, Coal Roasted Banana, and Crispy Rice. Animae’s Thanksgiving menu is available for $89.95 per person from 3:00pm to 7:30pm on Thanksgiving Day, and reservations are recommended.
Herb & Wood
Herb & Wood, Chef Brian Malarkey’s Little Italy iconic restaurant, will be offering a three course Thanksgiving Menu from 3PM to 7:30PM on Thanksgiving. Highlights from the menu, which will be available for $79.95 per person, include Fig & Cowgirl Creamery Bleu Cheese Toast, Country Fried Quail, Pink Peppercorn & Sea Salt Crusted Prime Rib, Celery Seed Rubbed Local Swordfish, New Zealand Venison & Dates, and Apple & Pear Pie. The menu will also be served with a selection of classic Thanksgiving sides, including mashed potatoes and stuffing. Herb & Sea
Herb & Sea, the Puffer Malarkey Collective’s newest addition in Encinitas, is celebrating Thanksgiving with their Coastal-Californian take on a classic Thanksgiving menu. The three course dinner, which is priced at $69.95 per person, will feature starter options such as Kuri Pumpkin Soup and Duck Confit, with main options like Herb & Citrus Marinated Turkey and Plancha Seared Branzino, and dessert options like Pumpkin Cheesecake and Chocolate Cremeux.
Each meal is also served with a variety of sides, which includes Crème Fraiche Mashed Potatoes & Whipped Butter, Traditional Stuffing, Turkey Thyme Gravy, Cranberry & Orange Chutney, Green Beans & Crispy Onions, and Parker House Rolls with Herb Honey Butter. A three course children’s menu will also be available for $29.95. The restaurant will be open from 3PM to 7:30PM, and reservations are highly recommended.
Vistal, the InterContinental Hotel San Diego’s signature restaurant, will be offering a Thanksgiving dinner for hotel guests and visitors alike. Their turkey plate, which will feature all the Thanksgiving classics, is priced at $32, and is available from 12PM to 8PM on Thanksgiving day. Enjoy your meal while soaking in Vistal’s stunning views of the San Diego bay.
Spend your Turkey Day by the shoreline in Pacific Beach at Waterbar, where you can get your fill of all the holiday favorites with a special three-course dinner priced at $32.95 per person. Featured dishes include Roasted Acorn Squash Bisque with vanilla whipped crème fraiche, fried sage and chili oil, as well as Horseradish-Crusted Prime Rib with peppercorn au jus, and Herb and Garlic Roasted Mary’s Turkey Breast with sage gravy – each served with duck confit cornbread stuffing, roasted garlic and arugula smashed red potato, pan-roasted green beans, a rosemary dinner roll and cranberry sauce. The Lemon Grove eatery will be open for its first Thanksgiving, offering an all-day menu from 11Am to 8PM. The menu will feature a la carte dishes and holiday specials. For those who want something traditional, they’ll also have a turkey dinner.

The ocean view eatery has remained a holiday staple for decades, and this year is no exception. Make a reservation to enjoy Pacifica Del Mar’s popular Thanksgiving menu. Guests will enjoy a multi-course menu for $65, which includes a choice of starter, like Butternut Squash Soup, and entrée, such as Oven Roast Free Range Turkey with the fixings, Slow Cooked Angus Prime Rib, Zinfandel Braised Beef Shortribs and Pacifica Seafood classics. End on a sweet note with a choice of dessert. Kids 12 and under eat from the kids menu for $20.
Who wouldn’t love to enjoy a menu crafted by Executive Chef Kevin Templeton for Thanksgiving this year?! On November 26st, starting at 2PM, barleymash will be serving up a $45 three-course Thanksgiving dinner with an added Wild Turkey Flight (while supplies last). The first course consists of your choice of butternut squash soup, house or Caesar salad. The main course is Andouille Stuffed Turkey Roulade, with garlic mashed potatoes, Wild Turkey-brown butter gravy, brown ale biscuit stuffing, Brussels sprout casserole, roasted baby carrots, and habanero-cranberry jelly. For dessert, chose between Chocolate Chip Bourbon Pecan Pie and Caramel Dutch Apple Pie. The Wild Turkey Flight, priced at $50, will feature Longbranch, Master’s Keep Cornerstone Rye, and hand-selected Master’s Keep Revival.
For those foregoing the traditional turkey route this year, Tajima is offering a family meal kit that also gives back this holiday season. The interactive meal kit includes edamame and all the necessary ingredients to make the ramen spot’s signature Tajima Ramen including original Tonkotsu broth, uncooked noodles, pork chashu, half ramen egg, bok choy, bean sprouts, green onions, fried garlic, sesame seeds, spices and instructions. For every kit purchased at any of the six San Diego locations, Tajima will donate $5 to Big Table Foundation, an organization created as a support group for hospitality workers.
There is plenty of football action on Thanksgiving Day this year, with games set for the morning, afternoon, and evening! And to celebrate, Corner Chicken has created a family/group meal package, with a portion of proceeds that will be donated directly to Big Table Foundation, an organization developed to be a support group for hospitality workers. Guests looking to savor a Thanksgiving meal sans the turkey and trimmings, can enjoy traditional Japanese hot pot at Shabu Works. The Mira Mesa destination will be open for lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving Day, with All-You-Can-Eat shabu-shabu selections.
