San Diego Rings In the Year of the Dragon
The San Diego Chinese New Year Faire, hosted by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association, is scheduled to return for its 41st year in February, celebrating the Year of the Dragon.
The event has been a staple event in the community since 1983, growing year after year to become one of the biggest and most popular celebrations in San Diego.
Celebrate the Year of the Dragon
The San Diego Chinese New Year Faire tradition was started by the descendants of the San Diego Chinese community that resided in downtown San Diego since the late 1880s. Today, we feast and play in the same historic neighborhood with diverse food, cultural performances, and craft vendors!
There will be traditional and cultural entertainment all day long on both days, Lion Dances, kung fu, traditional instruments, classical dance troupes, traditional food, family-friendly entertainment, crafts for kids, a dragon dance, vendors, and so much more!
See you there!
This fun, family event is FREE to the public!
The faire takes place on the corner of 3rd Avenue and J Street in downtown San Diego, and will go on rain or shine.
