Kick Off the New Year on the Dance Floor at the San Diego Tango Festival
Looking for the best way to kick off the new year? The San Diego Tango Festival is back for its 16th edition at the Wyndham Bayside, and it’s all about social dancing and having a great time.
Four days of classes and milongas, plus early arrival and “Tangover” events, make this a party worth planning your holiday around. If you want it to be a great year, bring your favorite social dancers along.

Learn From this Year’s Maestros
This year’s lineup mixes longtime favorites with some new faces. Maxi and Paloma, Felipe and Ayano, Fulya and Ozhan, Florencia and Marcos, and Giselle Anne will lead classes throughout the festival.
Whether you’re sharpening your technique or picking up something new, you’ll have plenty of chances to learn from the best. There’s even a beginner tango track, so if you’re new to the dance floor, you can jump right in.

Toast the New Year on the Dance Floor
The festival has everything you’d expect from a top tango weekend: a forgiving floor, great DJs, a smooth sound system, and lots of hours of dancing.
Since it’s New Year’s, expect decorations, twinkle lights, balloons, and champagne to add some extra sparkle. The organizers take their tango seriously, but not too seriously, so expect a welcoming, social atmosphere where everyone shares the floor.
Bring your dancing shoes and good energy, because this crowd knows how to have fun.

Explore the Bayfront Between Dances
The Wyndham sits right on the waterfront, with sunsets, good weather, and one of San Diego’s best restaurant districts within walking distance.
The Embarcadero is just across the street, so you can stroll along the bay, tour the historic ships of the Maritime Museum of San Diego, or wander to Seaport Village. The Gaslamp Quarter and Horton Plaza are also nearby for sightseeing between dances.
See you there!
With top maestros, hours of dancing, and a bayfront setting, the San Diego Tango Festival is a great way to ring in the new year on the dance floor.
