San Diego Made Holiday Market Takes Over Liberty Station

Liberty Station’s NTC Park is turning into a full-scale holiday marketplace with over 125 curated local makers and artisans, and if you’re tired of buying generic gifts from big box stores, this is your alternative. The San Diego Made Holiday Market runs for two days, offering a handmade shopping experience that supports the local creative community.

San Diego Made Holiday Market

More Than Just Shopping

The marketplace is the main draw – 125 vendors means you’re getting serious variety across different mediums and price points. But San Diego Made is layering in interactive art installations where you can watch local artists work live, creative workshops, live music, kids’ activities, and free seasonal photo booths.

There’s also a family-friendly scavenger hunt running throughout the market, with participation cards available at the entrance. Complete it and you get a gift while supplies last.

Local food trucks and drink options will be scattered throughout NTC Park, so you can spend the whole day there without needing to leave for lunch. The outdoor festival format works well at Liberty Station – the space is designed for this kind of event, with enough room to move around comfortably even when it’s busy.

Supporting Local Creatives

Admission is $5, with free entry for kids 10 and under. That money goes to San Diego Made’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which provides affordable resources for local creatives and brings arts-based programming to the community.

It’s not just covering event costs – it’s funding ongoing support for makers trying to build sustainable creative careers.

When you buy something at the market, you’re supporting individual artists and makers directly. No middlemen, no corporate markups, just direct transactions with people who made what you’re buying. That might sound idealistic, but it’s literally how this market operates.

Why It Works

San Diego Made has built a reputation for curating quality vendors. You’re not wading through rows of mass-produced items with “handmade” labels slapped on them. These are actual local makers and artisans who are creating original work.

The curation matters – it’s what separates this from generic craft fairs that dilute the experience with low-quality vendors.

The two-day format gives you flexibility. If Saturday gets too crowded or you miss something, you can come back on Sunday. Different makers might have different inventory on day two, so there’s an incentive to show up both days if you’re serious about finding specific items.

See you there!

Shop local, support San Diego’s creative community, and knock out your holiday list with gifts that actually mean something because someone made them by hand.
