Taste Endless Coffee at the San Diego Coffee Festival on Broadway Pier

Broadway Pier has hosted plenty over the years. For one weekend this fall, it turns into the best-smelling room in San Diego.

The San Diego Coffee Festival is back for a third year, and the setup is refreshingly simple. Buy a ticket, walk in, and taste your way across a pier packed with roasters. The pours are included. Finding your new regular bag is the only work you have to do.

San Diego Coffee Festival

Modern Times, Ryan Bros, and a Room Full of Roasters

The exhibitor list runs deep. Modern Times Coffee, Ryan Bros Coffee, Cafe Moto, Parakeet Café, Klatch Coffee, Coba Coffee, and Leleka Coffee Roasters are all on the roster, alongside smaller operations like Tyne Coffee Co., Shepherds Coffee Co., and 18 Cities Coffee Roasters.

Tea and other non-coffee options are pouring too, so nobody in your group has to sit it out. Exhibitors can shift depending on availability, so treat the roster as a strong starting point.

The Extra Hour Early Admission Buys You

Tickets come two ways per session. General admission gets you the full session. Early admission gets you in an hour before everyone else and then rolls straight into the GA time, so the head start costs you nothing on the back end.

A limited run of VIP all-day passes covers both sessions of a single day, with in-and-out privileges and the run of the room during the break between them. If you want to see everything without rushing, that is the one to grab.

What Everybody Does During the Service Break

Service stops between the two sessions so roasters get a breather. That gap is the best window of the day to talk to the people behind the counter about what you have been drinking.

It is also when the food trucks outside earn their keep. Glutenus Maximus, Leilanis, Sweet Thoughts, and The Funky Frenchie are on the lineup. Food is not included with admission, so bring a card.

A Different Artist for Every Session

Each session gets its own soundtrack. Saturday opens with Brianna Grace and hands off to Divina after the break. Sunday belongs to Noël Tsoukalas, then Nightshade Navarro.

Artists can change depending on availability, but the shape of the day holds. There is live music running the whole time you are drinking.

Bring Your Own Mug

Your favorite travel mug is welcome here, and it is the easiest way to cut down on cups. Capacity is capped, so everyone walking in needs a ticket, including the ones who came mostly for the music.

Kids under 13 get in without a ticket, though this is a room full of hot drinks at elbow height, so keep them close. Dogs need to be service animals, and the pier has no relief areas, so plan around that.

See you there!

Two days, four artists, and more roasters than you can reasonably get through in a single session. Pick your day, pick your session, and show up thirsty.
