Run the Gaslamp Quarter, Then Rave at Petco Park With Diplo

San Diego sold this one out its first year, and it is coming back for another lap. Diplo’s Run Club pairs a 5K through downtown with a full concert on the main stage at Gallagher Square, and all of it happens inside Petco Park.

You run hard, you finish, and then you stay for the party. That is the whole pitch, and it works.

A 5K That Runs Straight Through the Gaslamp Quarter

The course starts and finishes at Gallagher Square, looping out through the historic Gaslamp Quarter so you get downtown San Diego at street level. It is the stretch of the city you already know by heart, this time with a bib on.

A start line DJ has the field moving before anyone crosses the mat. Organizers note the route is subject to change, so check the official page before you go.

Diplo Closes Out the Main Stage

Gallagher Square opens as soon as the race goes off, so finishers walk straight from the course into the festival. An opener DJ warms up the stage, and Diplo takes it from there with friends.

This one is all ages, which makes it an easy call for families who want the music without a 21-plus wristband. The concert-only option is showing as unavailable, so registering for the 5K is the way in.

A T-Shirt, a Medal, and a Diplo Set

Every entry covers the 5K, concert access, a technical t-shirt, and a finisher medal. Registration starts at $123.20 with fees included and runs to $222.88 at the top end, and organizers have said pricing rises as inventory shrinks. The field is already 80% sold out.

The VIP 5K Experience adds front of the start line access, a dedicated viewing area, VIP entry, VIP bars, a custom bib number, and free check-in on race day so you can skip packet pick-up altogether. Military and first responders can claim a discount through GOVX.

Claim Your Patch of Gallagher Square

Bring towels, blankets, and sheets for lounging once you finish, because the square turns into the festival floor. Small bags and purses up to six by eight by three inches are fine, and they do not need to be clear.

Clear bags and backpacks can go bigger, up to 12 by six by 12 inches, and empty hydration packs up to 2.5 liters are allowed. Mobile lockers are available if you would rather carry nothing, and booking one ahead saves 15%.
