Sip for a Cause at Hallo-Wine’s 19th Fall Festival in Point Loma
Fall in San Diego almost never means sweater weather. It means an ocean breeze, a glass in your hand, and a lawn with a view.
Hallo-Wine Fall Festival is back in Point Loma for its 19th year, and Home Start is running it the way they always do: an afternoon of food, wine, and good company on the lawn of a private estate.

An Ocean View and Three Hours to Use it
The setting does a lot of the work here. The estate looks out over the water from Point Loma, and the festival takes over its lawn in the middle of the day, so you get the light, the breeze, and your evening back.
It’s the kind of afternoon that runs longer than you planned.

Dozens of Tasting Stations and a Glass to Take Home
Dozens of stations line the lawn, pouring and plating from San Diego restaurants, boutique wineries, local breweries, and mocktail makers. Your ticket covers the food and wine samples, so wander and take your time with it.
You keep the tasting glass. There’s also a ride share discount or valet included, which takes the parking question off the table.

There’s a Speakeasy Somewhere on the Grounds
Live music runs through the afternoon, and there’s an opportunity drawing going on alongside it. The organizers tuck surprises around the property too, including a speakeasy you have to find on your own.
What Your $120 Pays For
Home Start has worked to prevent child abuse and strengthen families in San Diego since 1972, and served more than 15,000 people across the county last year. Ticket money goes toward behavioral health care, housing support, family strengthening programs, and other resources for local children and families.
The October timing is deliberate. Hallo-Wine lands every fall in recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and each year a Home Start program participant shares their own story with the crowd. This year’s presenting sponsors are Guild Mortgage, Pack Foundation, and TCW Global.
