Feel the Island Vibes at the Holo Holo Music Festival
Holo Holo Music Festival is bringing island and reggae music back to Gallagher Square at Petco Park for a two-day celebration that combines live performances with The Great Island Cook Out food festival.
This expansion of the festival that started at Stanford University in 2022 continues its mission of connecting communities through the vibrant sounds of island music and reggae culture.

Flexible Ticketing for Different Experiences
The festival offers distinct ticketing options that cater to different interests and budgets. Food enthusiasts can purchase The Great Island Cook Out ticket for $5 advance/$10 at door, which provides access to island-inspired cuisine without the music performances.
Music festival tickets include both performance access and food festival entry, eliminating the need for separate purchases.
This tiered approach recognizes that some attendees prioritize the culinary experience while others want the complete music and food festival package. The pricing structure makes the event accessible to various economic situations while supporting both the musical and culinary programming.
Festival’s Cultural Roots and Growth
Producer Dan Sheehan’s background growing up in Ewa Beach, O’ahu, brings authentic island music perspective to the festival curation.
His connection to Good Vibez Presents, which has produced events for over 25 years including the California Roots Music & Arts Festival in Monterey, provides established credibility in the reggae and island music festival space.
The festival’s expansion from its 2022 Stanford origins to multiple West Coast cities demonstrates growing interest in island and reggae music programming. The name “holo holo,” meaning “to travel, to sail, to move,” reflects both the music’s cultural origins and the festival’s geographic expansion.

Community and Cultural Connection
Good Vibez Presents’ commitment to supporting nonprofits, small businesses, and creatives aligns with reggae culture’s emphasis on community building and social consciousness.
The festival creates space for artists within the island and reggae genres to reach audiences while maintaining cultural authenticity rather than commercial appropriation.
The two-day format allows for deeper musical exploration and community connection compared to single-day events, supporting the festival’s goal of fostering genuine cultural exchange rather than superficial entertainment.
