Makers Arcade Spring Fair Makes its Balboa Park Debut
Spring weekends in Balboa Park just got even better. Makers Arcade is making its highly anticipated debut on Sixth Avenue with a two-day Spring Fair that brings together local creativity, small businesses, live music, and plenty of ways to celebrate the season.
If we love strolling Balboa Park with a coffee in hand, discovering new brands, and running into friends along the way, this one deserves a spot on our calendar.

120+ Local Makers Lining Sixth Avenue
For the first time, Makers Arcade is transforming Sixth Avenue into an open-air marketplace featuring more than 120 curated artisans and emerging brands from across Southern California and beyond.
We can expect hand-thrown ceramics, statement jewelry, botanical skincare, original artwork, textiles, home goods, specialty foods, and spring-ready gifts that feel thoughtful and personal. It’s the kind of shopping experience where we actually get to meet the makers behind the products and hear the stories that inspired them.
And with Balboa Park as the backdrop, it feels uniquely San Diego.

More Than a Market
The Spring Fair is designed as a full-on weekend experience, not just a shopping trip.
Live music performances will set the vibe throughout the day, while interactive art installations and hands-on craft stations invite both kids and adults to get creative. Food trucks will be parked and ready, along with beverage options including cocktails, mocktails, and local beer.
Since it’s Easter weekend, families can look forward to festive photo ops, and kids 12 and under will receive a surprise-filled Easter egg upon entry. Shoppers can also earn prize tickets with purchases, redeemable for giveaways during the event.
Keep an eye out for “golden tickets” hidden inside select Makers Arcade tote bags – lucky guests who find one will unlock special prizes.

Supporting San Diego’s Creative Community
Beyond the shopping and entertainment, the Spring Fair has a deeper purpose. Proceeds from the event support San Diego Made, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to accelerating San Diego’s creative culture by providing affordable spaces, economic opportunity, and community connection for artists and creative entrepreneurs.
As Brittany Wiczek, co-owner of Makers Arcade, shared, bringing the Spring Fair to Balboa Park is about more than retail. It’s about celebrating local talent, supporting small businesses, and creating a space where families and friends can gather and connect.
As spring kicks off and Balboa Park fills with visitors, this feels like a meaningful way for us to shop small and support independent makers in our own backyard.

See you there!
We’ll be wandering Sixth Avenue, tote bag in hand, discovering new favorites and soaking up the spring energy. Hope to see you supporting local alongside us.
