Children’s Museum of Discovery Hosts Nature Night
If we’re looking for a meaningful way to spend a Saturday evening with the kids, the Children’s Museum of Discovery in Escondido has us covered. Their fifth annual Nature Night is back, offering families a fun, hands-on way to explore environmental science together.
This after-hours event is designed especially for children ages four to ten and brings STREAM learning – science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math – to life through interactive experiences.

Hands-On Learning With Local Partners
One of the best parts of Nature Night is how it connects families with some of San Diego’s favorite community organizations.
Throughout the evening, kids can explore the science of scent with the California Wolf Center, learn about animal tracks with San Diego Parks and Recreation, and discover the ins and outs of recycling with One Clean Beach. Zovargo will also be on-site with a tidepool touch tank, giving little explorers the chance to get up close with marine life.
Each activity is designed to spark curiosity while building foundational STREAM skills. It’s the kind of learning that feels more like play, which makes it even more impactful.

Sparking Curiosity Through STREAM
Nature Night is generously supported by BQuest Foundation, along with sponsorship from Escondido Rotary, helping ensure families across the community can participate.
The Museum’s STREAM programs often serve as an introduction to science and engineering for many families – particularly those who may not have access to hands-on enrichment opportunities at home.
Through themed events like Nature Night, the Museum creates space for kids to explore topics like water conservation, wildlife, and recycling in ways that feel approachable and engaging.
As Christina Piranio, CEO of the Children’s Museum of Discovery, shared, the Museum is committed to creating authentic hands-on learning experiences that build foundational skills while nurturing a natural sense of wonder. Events like this bring that mission to life in a way that feels both educational and fun.

Plan Ahead
Pre-registration is required, and tickets are affordably priced to make the evening accessible for families. Members receive discounted admission, and special discounts are available for military and veteran families, as well as families with EBT, WIC, or SNAP benefits.
