Yoga in the Garden: Open Air at San Diego Botanic Garden
There are yoga classes, and then there are yoga classes where you’re surrounded by thousands of plants, fresh coastal air, and the kind of quiet that’s hard to find anywhere else in the county.
The Open Air Yoga session at San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas is the latter – a one-hour morning class set among 37 acres of lush, curated landscape.

Move at Your Own Pace
The class runs for a full hour and is designed around gentle movement – the kind that slows you down rather than wipes you out. Think less power flow, more intentional breath and body awareness, with a living garden as your backdrop.
You’ll hear birds. You’ll smell something blooming. It’s the kind of setting that does half the work for you before class even starts.

Know Before You Go
Pre-registration is open through 5 PM the day before, and it comes with a discounted rate. Non-members pay $27 pre-registered or $30 at the door. Members get in at $17 pre-registered or $20 walk-up.
Worth Making a Morning Of
San Diego Botanic Garden isn’t the kind of place you rush in and out of. With four miles of trails, ocean views, and 29 themed gardens spanning 15 different global regions, showing up early and wandering before class is a good call.
The West Coast’s largest children’s garden and the nation’s largest public bamboo collection are both on-site, if you want to make it a full outing.
