The Rosin Box Project Presents Empower: A Prism of New Work at Liberty Station
March is bringing fresh momentum to San Diego’s dance scene, and The Rosin Box Project is leading the way with Empower: A Prism of New Work. This intimate contemporary ballet program takes the stage in Liberty Station, spotlighting bold choreography and distinct artistic voices.
As the company’s season opener, Empower sets the tone with new works that explore authorship, identity, and imagination through movement.

A Dynamic Creative Lineup
At the heart of Empower is a trio of choreographers offering different perspectives on contemporary ballet, creating a program that feels layered and intentional. Each artist brings a distinct movement vocabulary, giving the evening both contrast and cohesion.
Carly Topazio, The Rosin Box Project’s founding Artistic Director, continues to shape the company’s athletic and expressive style. Jeremy Zapanta adds his own choreographic voice, introducing movement that expands the emotional and visual range of the performance.
Guest choreographer Adriana Pierce rounds out the lineup with a fresh perspective that deepens the program’s creative scope. Together, these works form a thoughtful exploration of contemporary ballet that feels both technically grounded and artistically daring.

An Up-Close Experience
Set in Liberty Station, the performance space allows the audience to feel close to the dancers, amplifying the detail and emotion behind every movement. It is the kind of setting where subtle gestures and powerful physicality land with equal impact.
For anyone who appreciates innovative dance or wants to experience ballet in a more personal environment, this is a compelling way to spend an evening.
