Awesome Date Alert: French-Inspired, Sweetheart Dinner At Eclipse Chocolate

San Diego is packed with great date options during the weekend of love, and we’ve got you covered with yet another awesome idea: The Sweetheart, French-Inspired Supper Club Dinner at Eclipse Chocolate.

This will be Eclipse’s seventh Valentine’s Day dining event, and it will be a perfect mixture of elegant French cuisine with a decadent infusion of chocolate, vanilla bean and caramel.

Reservations are available for both Friday and Saturday night, and include a violinist who will serenade the bistro with romantic music!

The menu:

Starters:

  • Lobster & Leek Gratin
    Creamy gratin of crab, shallot, leek and roasted garlic and vanilla butter poached lobster,
    pink peppercorn, rainbow carrot, sunchoke chip
  • Artisan Cheese & Caramel Plate
    Seasonal fruit and vanilla crostini with spiced peach chutney, chile burnt caramel sauce and four artisan cheeses:
    lavender chevre, goat milk. Rolled in lavender salt and wild fennel pollen teahive, cow milk. Rubbed in black tea & bergamot blossom delice pommard, cow milk. Studded with mustard husks roquefort, sheep milk. Lightly aged & emerald veined

Taste:

  • Biscuit & Butter
    Caramelized white chocolate, roasted garlic, and emmental biscuit, cocoa nib butter, trio of exotic sea salts: vanilla bean, lavender, and smoked chardonnay oak

Taste:

  • Beet & Bruleed Chevre
    Roasted yellow beet and raw candy cane beet, bruleed chevre, candied cocoa nib, majenta micro green and lavender sea salt

Course One:

  • Caramelized Onion Soup
    Broth of caramelized onion, shallot, veggie stock, and red wine, soft poached egg, white chocolate blood orange glazed buttermilk croute and chive

Course Two:

  • Gougere & Herb Canapes
    Gruyere & tellicherry peppercorn pasty and sorrel, tarragon, watercress, and arugula salad, chile burnt caramel hollandaise, smoked chardonnary oak sea salt

Course Three:

  • Cocoa Boeuf Bourguignon
    Red wine braised beef, crimini, carrot, celerly root, and chippolini, cocoa bacon jus and fresh herbes de provence-or-
  • Roasted Veggie & Brie en Croute
    Triple cream brie, heirloom carrot, and smoked mushroom duxelles in flaky pastry crust and cocoa balsamic jus-both accompanied by-
  • Potato Dauphinoise
    Creamy gratin of potato, garlic, white truffle, vanilla bean and panko gruyere crust

Course Four:

  • Creme Brulee Cheesecake
    Bruleed vanilla bean cheesecake, dulce de leche mousse, whipped creme fraiche, creme fraiche caramel, caramelized white chocolate, merlot sea salt
