The Henry is bringing its signature all-day dining experience to North County with a grand opening at The Forum Carlsbad.

Fox Restaurant Concepts’ “Greatest Neighborhood Restaurant” marks its second San Diego location, joining the beloved Coronado spot and sister concepts like Flower Child, Blanco, and Culinary Dropout in creating a welcoming community gathering place.

The Henry Carslbad

Why Carlsbad Made Sense

Sam Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts, emphasized his connection to San Diego, noting that the city has always felt like a second home where he’s spent years building restaurants and community.

With North County’s dining scene gaining momentum, bringing The Henry to Carlsbad felt like the natural next step to add their signature spirit with great food, welcoming vibes, and a place where locals feel like regulars from day one.

The 6,763-square-foot restaurant seats 101 guests indoors and 125 outdoors, including bar and dining areas along front and side patios. Framed by lush landscaping, decorative metal fencing, and a striped fabric canopy, the patio embraces North County’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle perfectly.

The Menu That Covers All Cravings

The Henry Carlsbad brings the same thoughtful blend of familiar favorites and fresh, seasonal selections made from high-quality ingredients with house-made touches throughout.

Starters like Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice and the fan-favorite Short Rib Potstickers set the stage for standout entrées, including Korean Prime Skirt Steak with double egg fried rice, and Wild Caught Bay Scallops paired with black truffle gnocchi.

Weekend brunch served every Saturday and Sunday offers comforting classics and vibrant California-inspired fare. The Quinoa Burrito or Bowl with eggs, black beans, and avocado, plus Huevos Rancheros Enchiladas and the signature Flower Child Scramble with grilled asparagus and roasted mushrooms, give weekend dining plenty of variety.

Thoughtful Design and Local Art

The restaurant exudes modern coastal elegance with rich neutral tones, natural textures, and thoughtful design details that create a warm, earthy feel.

At the heart of the design, a custom gallery wall features found objects, upcycled vintage art, and five original hand-illustrated architectural sketches centered around custom sandstone coins crafted from iconic California Spanish-style building facades.

An original sea flag designed as homage to Carlsbad’s Tamarack State Beach pays tribute to local surf culture, and this signature piece will be reimagined as a custom hemp tote gifted to VIP guests as a keepsake that carries the story beyond the restaurant walls.

Community Partnership

As part of its grand opening, The Henry Carlsbad is partnering with the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation, donating 30% of opening day proceeds to support protecting the lagoon and promoting environmental education.

The Foundation provides hands-on learning experiences and inspires stewardship of this vital coastal ecosystem, making the partnership a perfect fit for a restaurant that embraces its coastal community.

The Bar Program

The thoughtfully curated bar menu features standout cocktails like the Smoked Pineapple Margarita and matcha-infused The Way of Tea, alongside Hank’s Espresso Martini.

Local craft beers and a global wine list featuring highlights from Napa, Sonoma, and Europe complement house-made zero-proof drinks like Sparkling Matcha Latte and Pineapple & Thai Basil Soda for refreshing alternatives.
