It’s time to treat Mom to a fancy meal with lots of champagne! At Herb & Wood and Herb & Sea, celebrated Chef Brian Malarkey has crafted a three-course brunch and dinner menu fit for your queen, complete with a special gift for those kids who book mom’s table early.
Brunch: 10AM – 2:30PM / $65 per person, $30 per child
Start the day off bright and early at either Herb & Wood in Little Italy or Herb & Sea in downtown Encinitas. Favorites from Chef’s brunch menu includes starters like the Farmers Market Greens with strawberries, midnight moon goat cheese, and dukkah, or the Hamachi Crudo with white ponzu, radish sprouts, fresno chilis, and sunflower seeds. Mains include a special Fennel Crusted Tuna Nicose with soft egg, caper berries, and dijon vinaigrette, or a Maine Lobster Roll with avocado, lemon aioli, and herbs. Kid-approved breakfast goodies include Nutella Strawberry Crepes, or a classic Grilled Cheese.
Dinner: Starting at 5PM / $65 per person, $30 per child
End the day with a special three-course dinner at both establishments. Under the starts or inside the high-design dining rooms, feast on starters such as the Pork Belly with vadouvan vinaigrette, red onion, apple, chive (Herb & Wood only), or the Beef Tartare with capers, dijon, cornichon, chili, shallots, arugula, and sea salt crackers (Herb & Sea only). Mains include a Wood-Fired Filet with romesco and blistered peppers or the famed Roasted Half Chicken with braised kale, pickled mustard seeds, and caper herb salsa.
Pack a Picnic Brunch at the Beach With a Little Help From Ranch 45
You can’t go wrong treating mom to a picnic brunch at the beach! Ranch 45 in Solana Beach will be offering a Mother’s Day Brunch menu available for curbside pick up or delivery on Saturday, May 8th; and Sunday, May 9th. Each dish on the menu includes four portions, and highlights include Chino Farms Artichoke and Summer Squash Quiche, Strawberry Crepes with whipped cream, and Brandt Rib Roast, served with Roasted Potatoes, Chino Farms Vegetables, and Gem Lettuce Salad. Additional options include Smoked Salmon Benedict, Bacon and Cheese Quiche, and an assortment of Breakfast Pastries.
To complement the meal, guests may also add wine or beer to their purchase, ranging in price from $20 – $45, as well as pitchers of mimosas to cheers to mom. Treat mom to a truly delicious day at either of the InterContinental San Diego’s signature restaurants, Garibaldi and Vistal, both of which will be serving up Mother’s Day specials. Garibaldi, the rooftop getaway, has crafted a pre-fixe Mother’s Day brunch menu, featuring options such as Limoncello Pancakes, Sardinian Shrimp Scramble, and Aglianico Braised Lamb Shank Omelette. The three course menu costs $55 per person, and also includes Sweet and Savory Italian Pastries and Cassata Siciliana, a traditional ricotta gelato with candied fruit. To complete the meal, bottomless Aperol Spritzes or Prosecco are available for an additional $29 per person. Cheers to mom!
Vistal will also be celebrating mom with two a la carte brunch specials, a Lobster Egg Scramble with cherry tomatoes, asparagus, caviar, lemon hollandaise, and squash salad ($24) and the “Do it for Mom” Champagne Special, which is a bottle of 2005 Nicolas Feuillatte, Cuvée Spéciale Brut Millésimé for $149 (typically $190.)
