2022 Restaurant Openings: Marisi And Go Go Amigo

The year 2022 has some restaurant spring openings in store for all of us – Marisi in La Jolla, aims to break the rules on what guests would expect the best to be; and Go Go Amigo at Liberty Station in Point Loma, is everything bright, colorful, and fun!

Marisi Italiano, La Jolla –  Opening in Spring 2022

Led by Executive Chef Chad Huff (Providence in Hollywood, Felix Trattoria in Venice, and Broad Street Oyster Co. in Malibu), Culinary Director Erik Aronow (Bouchon Bistro, Red Medicine, Republique, Ink, Destroyer and Vespertine in Los Angeles), Bar & Spirits Creative Director Beau du Bois (Three Michelin-starred The Restaurant at Meadowood), and Dylan Shipsey a veteran of Union Square Hospitality Group, Marisi focuses on Italian hearth cooking with an emphasis on handmade pastas and classic cocktails.

Opening the doors to Italy by way of La Jolla and culling together experience in famed restaurants and bars around the country, as well as an extended timeline for creation and R&D because of the pandemic, the team seeks to break the rules on what guests would expect the best to be. The menu celebrates the rich diversity of cuisine from across Italy, fashioned in a time-honored tradition of handmade all day, every day.

Opening menu highlights include: Tortelli with oyster mushrooms and brown butter; Tonnarelli Gricia with guanciale, black pepper and pecorino; Calamari with Calabrian chilies, tomato and shallot; a Chicory salad with salami, tomato, red onion, almond and aleppo/oregano vinaigrette; as well as a beef Carpaccio with green onion, pine nuts and horseradish. The international and highly intense cocktail program features an array of Italian aperitivos, homemade limoncello, rare spirits and an Italian pilsner made specifically for Marisi. Bright and bold from the offerings to the design, Marisi is self-designed and imparts a vision of the Amalfi coast into its coastal location.

Go Go Amigo – Opening Early 2022

Hospitality group, Good Time Design, who owns and operates San Diego’s favorite hot spots including Moonshine Beach and The Presley, will be opening the doors to their new South of the Border-inspired restaurant, Go Go Amigo, in early 2022. Equal parts a place for lively celebration and group gatherings as it is for Mexican cuisine, everything about Go Go Amigo is bright, colorful and fun.

Featuring a menu of shareable plates that celebrate classic Mexican fare as well as more distinctive fusion items, Executive Chef Todd Nash reflects the vibrant ambiance of Go Go Amigo in each of his dishes including the Rockfish & Pulpo Agua Chile with cucumber, jicama, shallot, red fresno, cilantro, avocado, serrano foam, and plantain chips and Chicken Tinga Grilled cheese with queso oaxaca, avocado, pickled red onion, cotija griddled toast, and consomme dip.

Other menu offerings include starters, tacos, soups, salads, and desserts. The drink menu is largely tequila-inspired and margarita-focused, with cocktails such as the Prickly Pear Slushy and the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita. Go Go Amigo is located at 2885 Perry Rd, San Diego, CA and is scheduled to open in February 2022.

See you there, San Diego!
