7 Whiskey Bars In San Diego Every Whiskey Lover Must Try

“Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” – Mark Twain

“Ninety percent I’ll spend on good times, women, and Irish Whiskey. The other ten percent I’ll probably waste.” – Tug McGraw

“Whisky is liquid sunshine.” – George Bernard Shaw

”I wish to live to 150 years old, but the day I die, I wish it to be with a cigarette in one hand and a glass of whiskey in the other.” – Ava Gardner

We love whiskey! And thank goodness, San Diego has plenty of it, from bars with whiskey in the name, to over a dozen distilleries of our own, the whiskey is ready when you are!

No matter how you take it, here a few of the best places in San Diego to get your whiskey on!

Seven Grand

Seven Grand in North Park is absolutely dedicated to whiskey. They offer live music, pool tables, stag head mounted walls, and just about any whiskey you can think of. Seven Grand is also home to the Whiskey Society; a unique membership program for whiskey connoisseurs. Whiskey lovers…you may call this home.

Barleymash

Barleymash in the Gaslamp is all about good food, beer and bourbon. If bourbon is your whiskey of choice, you should definitely make this a regular.

The Whiskey House

The Whiskey House has over 2,500 whiskeys from all parts of the world, so no matter which type or how you take it, the Whiskey House will have the perfect match for you. Whiskey is in their name…you won’t find any place better for finding a rare whiskey to explore!

4. Aero Club

The Aero Club on India Street is a bar for someone that’s serious about having a drink. This isn’t some fancy-pants-bar-of-the-month kind of place; just a solid bar with little to distract you from their 1200+ whiskeys. Aero Club is a smaller bar with a big atmosphere and their bartenders know their stuff!

5. Urge Gastropub and Whiskey Bank

In North County? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Urge Gastropub and Whiskey Bank in Oceanside serves up food, beer, a great whiskey selection, and unpretentious and friendly service – just the way we like it! They even have a ’20s themed speakeasy that is only open on certain days. It has limited seating and a completely different menu of food and drinks that you can’t get in the restaurant.

6. The Lion’s Share

7. Polite Provisions

Polite Provisions on 30th and Adams is the place to go if you’re looking for a whiskey cocktail. Their cocktails and legendary, and about half of the menu is whiskey-based.

Enjoy!

San Diego is home to some seriously fine whiskey establishments – get out and try them all and let us know your favorite!

See you there!
