Monster Energy Supercross Returns to Snapdragon Stadium

If you’ve never experienced Supercross in person, it’s honestly hard to describe. The roar of the engines, the smell of the dirt, watching riders launch 30 feet into the air – it’s one of those things you just have to see for yourself. And this month, it’s all happening right here at Snapdragon Stadium.

Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship

San Diego’s Been Doing This Since 1980

Supercross has been part of San Diego’s DNA for over 40 years now, going all the way back to the Jack Murphy Stadium days on this exact same spot.

We’ve watched legends rise here – El Cajon’s own Broc Glover, Ricky Johnson, Ron Lechien. These days, it’s riders like Eli Tomac (who won here last year), defending champ Cooper Webb, Ken Roczen, and Chase Sexton keeping that legacy alive.

There’s something special about this race that keeps fans coming back year after year.

Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship

Cheering On Our Own

We’ve got two local riders to root for this year. Christian Craig from El Cajon has been racing in front of us since 2013, and he’s become one of the most seasoned guys out there. He’s riding for Quad Lock Honda and missed last year’s race, so he’s definitely coming in hungry.

Then there’s Dilan Schwartz from Alpine, one of the sport’s young guns riding for Toyota Redlands BarX Yamaha. This’ll only be his third time racing at home, and you know he’s going to bring it for the hometown crowd.

What Makes It Worth Going

The track alone is wild – they bring in 26 million pounds of San Diego dirt and build this insane course with massive jumps, tight turns, and obstacles that honestly look impossible until you see these guys clear them.

But beyond the racing, FanFest is where things get really fun. You can get up close with the bikes and teams, grab autographs from riders, check out sponsor booths, snag some merch, and just soak up the whole scene before the main event kicks off.
