Celebrate Pi Day At Pop Pie Co.

This coming Pi Day, pie enthusiasts and mathematicians alike will have reason to celebrate thanks to Pop Pie Co. The artisanal bakery, a University Heights neighborhood staple, will once again offer specialty pies created in collaboration with some of the city’s most beloved restaurants.

In addition, sister ice cream shop Stella Jean’s (located next door to Pop Pie) will have a menu of its most popular flavors that have graced the menu that aren’t always available. The first 50 guests in line at Pop Pie Co. at 7 a.m. will receive a free hand pie exclusive to the celebration. Remember, Pi Day specials are only available on March 14th until they run out.

Greatest Hits and Greatest Licks

Executive Chef Gan Suebsarakham has created a limited-edition “Greatest Hits” menu for Pi
Day, featuring pies he created with San Diego favorites like The Friendly and Grand Ole BBQ y Asado. These delicious creations were runaway hits when they hit the menu in the past and showcase the creativity that’s deeply rooted in Pop Pie’s concept.

The Pi Day 2020 menu includes:

• The Dirty Flattop Cheeseburger Pie
  (collaboration with The Friendly)

• BBQ Pork Daddy Mac Pie
  (collaboration with Grand Ole BBQ y Asado)

• Green Curry Chicken Pie
  (Chef Gan’s personal recipe)

• BBQ Jackfruit Mac & Cheese Pie
  (collaboration with Spoiled Vegans)

It will also include Coconut Cream, Earl Grey Tea and Thai Tea personal-sized (3.5”) sweet pies that left the regular menu last year.

Guests can also head next door to Pop Pie’s sister shop Stella Jean’s where they’ll find a stacked menu of all their most popular flavors (Honey Rosemary, Earl Grey, Salted Caramel Corn, S’mores, Mango Sticky Rice) alongside flavors that aren’t always on the menu like the immensely popular Ube Pandesal, Banana Pudding, Thai Tea and Golden Mylk.
