The Gluten Free Baking Co. Celebrates Pride With Cause-Driven Cupcakes

In honor of Pride month here in San Diego, The Gluten Free Baking Company, located in North Park, is selling limited edition rainbow cupcakes in benefit of The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC.)

The cupcakes, which are available at the bakery as of July 10th, can be purchased in a six-pack, which includes one cupcake in each flavor, or individually, and cost $5 per cupcake. For every cupcake sold, the bakery will donate $1 to NBJC, a civil rights organization dedicated to empowering Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.

The six cupcake flavors aim to celebrate the six colors in the Pride rainbow are as follows:

Red, which represents life, is Strawberry Chocolate

Orange, which represents healing, is Mango

Yellow, which represents the sun, is Lemon

Green, which represents nature, is Starlight Mint

Blue, which represents peace, is Funfetti

Purple, which represents spirit, is Ube Toasted Coconut

At the end of the campaign, The Gluten Free Baking Company will match the donations made from the cupcakes sales, doubling the donation to NBJC to help enable their work supporting Black queer people in the workplace, creating affirming family relationships, making schools more inclusive, securing housing, supporting those impacted by the prison industrial complex, and providing healthcare.

Stay healthy, San Diego!
