The Derby Party Is Back At Barleymash!

Saturday, May 1st, marks the 147th Kentucky Derby and barleymash in the Gaslamp Quarter is once again your go-to spot to catch all the action and enjoy festive food and drink specials!

barleymash is celebrating with Woodford Mint Juleps and Woodford Old Fashions, as well as GH MUMM Champagne bottle and by-the-glass specials. $2 from every Mint Julep sold will be donated to Project Save-A-Bullie, a local San Diego bulldog rescue!

Fun prizes plus good food!

Guests will get a raffle ticket for every Woodford and Mumms drink ordered, which will enter them into a drawing of the winning horse. Prizes include Titleist Golf Bag, a gift basket with an exclusive Woodford Derby bottle, a gift basket with GH MUMM Champagne, and Woodford Ice Chest/Cooler.

The Gaslamp restaurant and bar will also be selling Hot Brown Sliders, two roasted turkey sliders with garlic cream, bourbon roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions, applewood smoked bacon, pepper-jack and avocado, along with Barley Burgoo Fries, a hearty stew made of local ale braised pork shoulder, michelada braised chicken, Colorado braised short rib, black eyed peas, okra, and roasted veggies in a Woodford Reserve-brown butter gravy served atop house cut fries.

Arrive early for some extra fun!

For extra fun, arrive early to watch the Kentucky Turtle Derby, dubbed the slowest two minutes in sports. barleymash will be featuring a keep-the-cup, The Slow-Jito, made with Old Forester 86 Proof, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, club soda, and mint. And when you purchase the specialty drink, you’ll get free swag!
