InterContinental San Diego Named Official Tournament Hotel Of San Diego Open ATP Tennis Tour

Tennis fans don’t need to head to New York for world-class tennis when it’s right here in San Diego! The San Diego Open is the first ATP tournament in San Diego, happening from September 25 to October 3, and the InterContinental San Diego has been named the Official Tournament Hotel.

Must-try tennis-inspired libations

The InterContinental will be running a variety of specials for the duration of the tournament, so locals and visitors alike can enjoy the camaraderie and excitement that comes with hosting players, coaches, families and fans from all over the world.

Layover, the outdoor pool lounge and bar located on The InterContinental San Diego’s rooftop, and Vistal, one of the hotel’s restaurants, are adding two new tennis-inspired drinks to the menu, launching on September 24, including a “West Coast Smash” featuring Argonaut Brandy, muddled mint and lemon, honey and bubbles, and playing on the official cocktail of the U.S. Open Tournament’s “Honey Deuce,” an “Agave Deuce” with Corazon Tequila, Chambord, lemon, and agave nectar.

These refreshing libations are perfect for beating the heat, or for enjoying at the end of a long tournament day while watching the sun set over the city.

Win an epic giveaway!

In addition to the creative cocktails, the hotel is also conducting an epic giveaway on their Instagram page, where followers will have the opportunity to win a one night stay at the hotel and two tickets to the ATP tournament. In order to enter, all you have to do is follow @InterContinentalSD and @sandiegoopen, and tag a friend you would like to bring to the match.

The giveaway will begin on September 16 and a winner will be randomly selected on September 20. This is a great opportunity for locals to get involved in the tournament and potentially win a little stay-cation at one of San Diego’s most luxurious hotels. If you’re lucky, you might even run into one of the world’s greatest tennis players in the elevator!
