New At Fort Oak: $1 Oysters, New Bar Menu, New Summer Hours

Looking for an oyster-lover’s paradise? Well, you’ve arrived.

Starting Monday, April 4, Fort Oak will open to would-be-tipplers an hour early (4PM) to serve up specialty oysters for just a buck alongside cocktail and wine specials until sunset.

Fort Oak is your go-to for dollar oysters, skillfully shucked and sourced by our shellfish superfan chef team. We recommend Kumai oysters from Baja for a buck each, Kushi complemented by a dozen of Chef’s select: think briny bivalves from Island Creek Oyster, sweet kusshis from British Columbia, or crisp shigokus from Willapa Bay, Washington.

And what would a good oyster feast be without a good cocktail or two to wash it down? Polish off a gin and tonic or glass of rosé for only nine bucks a glass.

From the hearth, Chef has a few specials up his sleeve – grab yourself a dry-aged hot dog, served with salsa escabeche, elote aioli, cotija, and cilantro, all tucked into a challah bun, or reacquaint yourself with the infamous grilled burger – a half-pound beauty topped with fried egg aioli, truffled onion jam, and tipperary cheddar.

Oyster Monday happens only on, you guessed it, Mondays, from 4PM-6PM at the bar and on our patio. Walk-ins are the way to go, but they’ll have a few patio tables available to reserve if desired.

See you there, San Diego!
