First-Ever Baja Mezcal Fest Announced For July At Tahona Baja
San Diego’s new hospitality group, Be Saha Hospitality, announces the incoming debut of a large-scale event, Baja Mezcal Fest, to take place on Saturday, July 16 at Tahona Baja in Ensenada, Mexico.
Baja Mezcal Fest will be the region’s first event centered on this artisanal spirit and designed to celebrate artisanal mezcal makers and authentic Mexican culture and heritage.
On Saturday, July 16, guests will enjoy tastings of agave spirits from more than 25 leading mezcal brands, as well as the ability to meet and mingle with several of Mexico’s best mezcaleros.
The panel of all-artisanal brands includes globally renowned spirits such as Alipus, Animas, Casta Tribal, Dixeebe, Don Amado, Los Danzantes, Macurichos, Origen Raiz, Real Mineiro, Vago and more.
Between sips of spirits, visiting bartenders from hotspots across San Diego and Tijuana will also be mixing up exclusive cocktails for eventgoers to taste.

To compliment the festival’s drinks, more than a dozen guest chefs from Baja, Oaxaca, San Diego and beyond will be onsite creating tastes of their signature cuisines. Guest chefs will include:

What’s in store for the first ever Baja Mezcal Fest
Throughout Saturday guests can sign up to attend educational sessions featuring skilled mezcaleros, intimately sized to accommodate no more than twenty guests per session, and available on a first-come-first-served basis.
A different session will be hosted each hour of the day inside the property’s unique Tahona boats – fifty-year-old wooden ships rescued from destruction and today used as art space, for mezcal tastings and as private dining rooms.
Additionally, Baja Mezcal Fest will invite guests to shop fair-trade artisan goods at the festival’s Espiritus Maxicos pop-up store, where talented artists from Oaxaca will demonstrate their craft. And as sunset arrives, partygoers can end the day dancing to the sounds of international DJ Hydeclip.
Following the festival, on Sunday, July 17, guests can round out the weekend with an optional Oaxacan Sunday Brunch served at Tahona Baja between 10AM and 3PM. Guest chefs from Oaxaca’s popular Los Danzantes and Zandunga restaurants will cook traditional Oaxacan cuisine while bartenders craft recovery mezcal cocktails.

Festival seeks to end child abandonment
Baja Mezcal Fest benefits Corazon de Vida, a for-purpose organization providing support for orphaned and abandoned children in Baja, Mexico. Be Saha Hospitality has partnered with Corazon de Vida for more than six years to support its mission to end child abandonment by breaking the cycle of poverty.

Tickets to Baja Mezcal Fest, a 21+ event, begin at $125 per person. Each general admission ticket grants access to Saturday’s mezcal tastings, food sampling, mezcal talks and sunset party.
