FFWW To Host Unsung Heroes: The Story Of America’s Female Patriots On Veterans Day
On November 8, 2023 at 4PM, local nonprofit Foundation for Women Warriors (FFWW) is hosting a free online screening of the documentary Unsung Heroes: The Story of America’s Female Patriots in honor of Veterans Day. From Academy Award Filmmaker and Executive Producer Ron Howard, this two hour documentary highlights the heroic sacrifices of women that served in the American military.
Unsung Heroes: The Story of America’s Female Patriots
Every woman that has ever served has volunteered to do so, but their profound accomplishments have been largely ignored. With rare photographs, archival materials, and personal memorabilia to illustrate this eclectic mix of on-camera interviews, Unsung Heroes is a story of all guts and no glory and how the price of liberty is relevant to all Americans.
FFWW CEO Jodie M. Grenier shares, “As we reflect on the contributions of our veterans, we are honored to offer an opportunity for our community to learn about the critical achievements of the trailblazing women who served in defense of our Nation.”
“For far too long, women’s military service, their sacrifices, and accomplishments dating as far back as the Revolutionary War, have remained relatively untold. We are eager to share the incredible stories of women service members who undoubtedly influenced the trajectory and speed of women’s rights at home and all over the world.”
The Mission
Foundation for Women Warriors’ mission is to serve women veterans and their children so that their next mission is clear and continues to impact the world. FFWW is the only organization in the country solely focused on enhancing the personal and economic well-being of women veterans and their families. FFWW programs address the growing needs of the increasing population of military women transitioning to civilian life.
