Remembrance Meets Revelry: Chula Vista’s Dia de los Muertos Celebration
The Downtown Chula Vista Association is thrilled to welcome back the 4th Annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration. Friends and family of all ages are welcome to experience the vibrant and heartwarming tradition of cherishing the memories of our departed loved ones.
Set against the backdrop of Downtown Chula Vista, the Dia de los Muertos Celebration promises an array of activations such as a community altar, Las Jefas market with curated bites, sips, and goods, an altar contest, live music, a car show, dance performances, kids activities, and much more.
Annual Tradition of Celebration
“Every year, we are excited to continue the annual tradition of celebrating Dia de los Muertos in our community,” said Dominic Li Mandri, District Manager of the Downtown Chula Vista Association.
“It’s a celebration deeply appreciated by the community and holds a special place in our hearts. We’re thrilled to showcase live performances, delicious food vendors, crafts for the kids, and much more throughout the event.”
A Symbol of Love and Remembrance
At the heart of the cultural tradition is the community altar, a symbol of love and remembrance. Participate in the tradition by bringing photos of loved ones who have passed and placing them in the neighborhood’s community altar at Davidson St.
As a cherished holiday, the community altar brings the entire community together to commemorate loved ones who have passed away while celebrating the joy that life brings.
The cultural celebration will feature live music and dance performances at multiple locations, kids activities, a car show, delicious food, vendors, and themed photo opportunities throughout the neighborhood.
