Birch Aquarium Hosts Penguin Photo Contest

Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego is celebrating the first anniversary of Beyster Family Little Blue Penguins with a penguin photo contest! Starting today, the community is invited to post their favorite photo taken in the aquarium’s newest (and cutest) exhibit.

How To Enter

To enter the penguin photo contest, post a picture on either Instagram or Facebook, tag Birch Aquarium and use #BirchPenguinPhoto and tell the aquarium why you chose that photo in the caption. The contest closes on July 2, 2023. Photo suggestions include family selfies, a picture of your favorite Little Blue Penguin or simply a favorite memory in the exhibit. Note, entrants must be legal residents of the United States and at least 18 years old at the time of entry.

Birch Aquarium staff and volunteers will select five (5) winning photos. These five photos will be posted on official Birch Aquarium social media accounts on July 12 and displayed in Beyster Family Little Blue Penguins from July 12-31, 2023. Each account that posted a winning photo will receive 2 general admission tickets to the aquarium. Official rules, terms and conditions are found on the aquarium’s website here.
