Culinary Dropout Del Mar is Throwing a Birthday Bash and the Whole Community is Invited
One year in, and Culinary Dropout Del Mar has well and truly made its mark on the neighborhood. To celebrate, the restaurant is throwing a birthday party that’s equal parts fun, community spirit, and giveback – and it’s free and open to everyone.

A Party Built Around the Locals
The celebration runs at Culinary Dropout’s Del Mar Highlands Town Center location, and the lineup is stacked. Live music sets the tone while happy hour favorites like Soft Pretzels and Provolone Fondue and Spicy Korean Pork Ribs keep things well fed.
Eight-year-old surfing and skating prodigy Uriah McDonald will be on hand to meet fans, snap photos, and sign boards – and if you haven’t heard of him yet, look him up. Professional skaters represented by the Skate Board Association will also be on site for signings and giveaways.
Sector 9 is Back With Another Board Giveaway
San Diego’s iconic skate brand Sector 9 – who showed up for Culinary Dropout’s opening day – is returning with another skateboard giveaway for the first 50 diners lined up.
You’ll get to choose between two ocean-inspired board designs, the Fiji and the Jammer Rips, on a first come, first served basis.
Giving Back to the Community
In the spirit of the occasion, the event includes a raffle to win a surfboard, with $10 tickets benefiting the San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation – supporting local firefighters, lifeguards, and paramedics.
On top of that, Culinary Dropout will donate 20% of all food proceeds during the event window to the Foundation – valid for both dine-in and takeout. Just mention the organization when you check out.
See you there!
A free party with live music, skateboard giveaways, happy hour bites, and a chance to give back to the community – this is exactly the kind of neighborhood celebration Del Mar does well.
