Stand Up for Service: ASAP’s Military Comedy Showcase at Mic Drop
San Diego has one of the largest military communities in the country, and the Armed Services Arts Partnership – ASAP for short – is doing something genuinely special to support them.
The non-profit connects active duty service members, veterans, and their families with the creative arts, offering programs in everything from stand-up comedy and acting to ceramics and songwriting. And research backs up what participants already know: that kind of creative engagement builds real resilience, confidence, and connection.

A Room Full of Real Ones
Later this month, ASAP is bringing some of its best to the stage at Mic Drop Comedy Club for a fundraiser showcase featuring a lineup of military-affiliated comics.
These aren’t open mic hopefuls finding their footing – they’re people with sharp material, honest stories, and the kind of delivery that only comes from life experience. Expect a set that’s funny, personal, and maybe a little unexpected.

The Bigger Picture
Every ticket sold goes directly toward expanding ASAP’s programs in San Diego – keeping classes running, keeping the doors open, and reaching more people in the military community who could benefit from a creative outlet.
Attending isn’t just a fun night out (though it very much is that); it’s a direct way to support something that’s making a tangible difference locally.

Good News on the Logistics
Mic Drop is a well-run room – the kind of comedy club that takes the craft seriously. Doors open an hour before showtime, so there’s plenty of time to grab a drink and settle in. Free parking and no item minimum mean there’s nothing standing between you and a great night.
See you there!
Grab a seat, show up for some sharp comedy, and help fuel creative arts programming for San Diego’s military community – all in one night.
