A new fall tradition is coming to Liberty Station’s North Promenade with Harvest on the Promenade, a two-day festival built around five immersive family experiences, live music, and seasonal food and drinks.

Designed by two San Diego moms who grew up on the East Coast, the festival was created to bring the kind of cozy fall tradition they missed to San Diego, all set beneath deciduous trees dressed in actual autumn color.

Meet the Bunnies at The Farmstead

Classic farm fun awaits at The Farmstead, where everyone can play in a leaf pit filled with over 10,000 leaves, pet fluffy bunnies in a bunny-only petting zoo, and dig into sensory bins filled with dirt, corn, and sand.

Each hour, a local grandmother brings stories to life during family storytime, complete with a small library of books to borrow in honor of the late Dolly Parton. It’s the kind of slow, simple fun that’s easy to lose track of time in.

Build it Yourself at the Workshop

At the Builders Workshop, kids pick pieces of real wood, grab a toolbox, and settle in at a workbench to measure, hammer, nail, sand, paint, and create something entirely their own.

A professionally staffed Saw Station handles any needed cuts safely, and finished projects can dry in a designated area while the family keeps exploring, ready to pick up before heading home.

It’s a rare chance for kids to use real tools and walk away with something they built themselves.

Craft and Create at Makers Village

Makers Village offers a hands-on creative space where crafting takes center stage. Think woodland animals made from paper and locally gathered foliage, block print stamping, and artwork with Indian ink, all with zero pressure to make something perfect.

It’s a spot where kids can slow down, get a little messy, and let their imagination lead the way. Whatever they end up making, it’s guaranteed to be one of a kind.

Compete in Family Field Days

Every 15 minutes, Family Field Days brings families together for some friendly competition, including the Sack Race, Pumpkin Roll, Blanket Shuffle, and the Great Apple Toss.

It’s an easy way to get the whole crew laughing and cheering together. Grandparents, parents, and kids can all jump in, so it’s just as much fun to watch as it is to play. Stick around for one round or come back throughout the day to try them all.

Wander Through The Glowing Hollow

Step inside a blacked-out tent and wander through hundreds of illuminated, hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns designed by local artists and students.

Immersive lighting and atmospheric music transform the space into something magical rather than scary, making it a great stop for all ages, with a live pumpkin carver performing just outside the tent.

Live Music, Food, and a Fall Market

The Harvest Stage keeps the music going all weekend with local performers spanning country, indie rock, Celtic, jazz, and more.

Food vendors bring seasonal bites like cider and donuts, gourmet grilled cheese, Southern comfort food, homemade ice cream, and empanadas, while Snake Oil Cocktails serves up seasonal cocktails and local brews.

The Harvest Market rounds things out with local vendors selling handmade goods and seasonal home decor.

Turning Fall Fun into Wishes Granted

A portion of every ticket purchased supports Make-A-Wish, helping grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. It’s a fitting cause for a festival built around the idea of families slowing down and making memories together.
