There Is A Pop-Up Speakeasy In San Diego (And Not Where You Might Expect…)

There is a Pop-Up Speakeasy in San Diego in the most unassuming location: a grocery market loading dock.

On Wednesday, June 21st, Barons Market will be transforming their San Diego loading docks into a private Backroom Beer Pairing patio-party.

The Market has partnered with local nano brewery favorite, Mike Hess Brewery of San Diego, to bring attendees the ultimate combined eating and drinking experience.

Guests will be served five separate pairings, and all of them are amazing.

How do we know they are amazing, you ask?

Because There San Diego was lucky enough to be invited to sit in on one of the pairing meetings with the Barons and Mike Hess Brewery taste experts – which included sampling the beer and dishes (we honestly may have the best jobs ever)!

Insider Tip: Be sure to save room for the dessert pairing. The whipped cream topped cinnamon bread and vanilla bean ice cream is paired with Coffee Grazias Vienna Cream Ale and is almost too good. That beer is dangerously drinkable and smooth.

Guests will be given info on all of the ingredients in the dishes and pairings, so that they can easily recreate the pairings at home. (What a fantastic party idea…) Delicious vegetarian pairings will also be available.

And, all of the proceeds from the event will benefit local San Diego charities: The San Diego Food Bank and The Murrieta Temecula Food Pantry.

Guests will be warming their hearts and bellies at the same time – who doesn’t like drinking for a cause?

Whether you are a gourmand and beer cicerone or just someone who likes to eat and drink, you do not want to miss this one-time Pop-Up with Barons and Mike Hess (and if you have no choice but to miss it, stay tuned on the Barons blog for their upcoming Pop-Ups with other companies).

So eat, drink, and be charitable!

Spacing is very limited and will sell out, so reserve your tickets ($15 per ticket) now! This event is 21 and older.

See you THERE, San Diego!
