Ariel Quartet To Perform Part One Of The Complete Beethoven Cycle
Distinguished by its virtuosic playing and undeniably impassioned interpretations, the Ariel Quartet has earned its glowing international reputation.
This quartet was formed in Israel nearly 20 years ago during their middle-school years. They now serve as the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music.
Ariel Quartet And The Beethoven’s Greatest Compositions
Widely considered to include particularly some of Beethoven’s greatest compositions, this cycle consists of 16 quartets divided into three periods.
The Early Period: when the composer was significantly influenced by Haydn and Mozart.
The Middle Period: including three quartets that honored Russian Count Razumovsky.
The Late Period: a reflection of the final years of his life.
This is the beginning of a four-year endeavor, with Ariel Quartet performing the complete Beethoven cycle. This is all in honor of the composer’s 250th birthday in 2020.
