NEW Inspirational Art Installation & More Happening This Month At ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station

ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station is giving you more reasons to fall in love with some of the best local art and culture all month long. From a brand-new inspirational art installation and Italian wine shop to a virtual open-mic night and photography workshops, there is something for everyone and so much more.

COLLABORATIVE GRANT

Located along the exterior walls of the Women’s Museum of California is the three-panel “Waves of Feminism” installation created by the Women’s Museum of California. This public
art installation was made possible by the ARTS DISTRICT Collaborative Grant presented last year by NTC Foundation.

“The Collaborative Grant program give us the opportunity to celebrate our tenants and their creative ideas,” says Lisa Johnson, President & CEO of NTC Foundation. “This particular installation serves as a symbol of inspiration for all young women and girls reminding them to never stop fighting for what they believe in.”

This temporary outdoor multi-panel mural describes and distinguishes the different eras and generations of feminism in a way that is educational, enlightening and engaging. The mural features images of prominent women who contributed to each era’s movement, along with didactic information embedded into the canvasses to provide context. The mural is installed along the exterior walls of the Museum on a vinyl canvas affixed to the wall and will remain in place for no less than six months.
