Women account for more than half of the artists and creatives showcasing their talents at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station, which includes over 30 art galleries, working artist studios and businesses. Join us in celebrating these women-owned businesses in honor of International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s History Month! Owner and contortionist, Hanna Denham has been training in circus arts for over 15 years and performing professional for about eight. Art in Flexion specializes in personalized strength, mobility, and flexibility training. Each student has a program made just for them to be able to execute the skills they are striving for. Classes include hand balancing and contortion to flexibility and more!

Together, this all-female team has helped each other to grow in their individual art businesses by holding each other accountable and creating new projects together that benefit themselves along with the entire community.

A yoga and art studio for children, Owner Tiffany Gullberg recognizes the importance of nourishing healthy physical, creative, and educational habits from an early age. She is passionate about fostering a positive yoga community focused on nourishing your child’s body and mind. Their mission is to provide health, excitement, and creativity, in an environment where kids can breathe, celebrate, and thrive through yoga and other expressive activities.

San Diego Craft Collective

There is empowerment in learning and new skill. Owner and mother of two, Steffanie Dotson is an advocate for crafts and arts. On March 4 and March 27, check out their Woodworking for Women workshop taught by designer and furniture maker Erin Dace Behling to empower women & non-gender conforming individuals in the wood shop. Additionally, they offer classes in fused glass, sewing, macrame, clay, and more!

Diana recognizes the bond children can have with the magic of music and has created music and movement classes designed to build confidence and support cognitive development, along with bring some balance and structure into the busy life of a parent/caregiver.

The Rosin Box Project

Founded in 2018 by Carly Topazio, The Rosin Box Project presents an original and innovative artist-driven view on contemporary ballet. The studio offers classes in traditional ballet along with contemporary, lyrical and groove available for all skill levels from beginner to advance professional. On March 4-6, they will be kicking off their 2022 Season: Interplay with an all-female program featuring two world premieres by resident choreographers Bethany Green and Carly Topazio.
