Cloak And Petal Brings A Stylish, Japanese Underground Vibe To Little Italy

Cloak and Petal in Little Italy is now open, and it definitely brings something new and different to the neighborhood.

The creators of Cloak and Petal aimed to combine the secret underground world of an abandoned Tokyo subway tunnel with the intimacy and social connection of a Japanese social lounge–together in one space in Little Italy.

An ambitious undertaking to say the least, and one that came together beautifully.

Cloak and Petal makes a dramatic first impression. A bar cloaked in two beautiful Japanese cherry trees is the heart of the space and makes for a stunning entrance.

The arrangement of the tables and seating around the bar give the place a very social vibe, much more like the feel of a hopping cocktail lounge than your typical restaurant.

The menu offers Wagyu for the beef lovers and sashimi and rolls for those craving sushi. The Wagyu Roll (below) is a standout. Sticking with the social theme, the dishes are meant to be shared.

The real standout on the menu is the cocktails! Infused gins and whiskeys make for interesting and tasty updates to traditional go-to’s like martinis and manhattans.

And the Shogun–made with brown rice tea infused reposado tequila and creamy cashew milk–is amazing and has to be experienced!

Cloak and Petal’s Japanese social lounge and edgy design definitely brings an exciting new option to Little Italy – be sure to check it out soon!

See you there!
