The ‘I Love Poke’ Competition Needs Your Experienced Taste Buds At Their Hawaiian Party!
The “I Love Poke” competition is taking place on Tuesday, May 23rd, and while it may be hard work for some (the contestants), it’s going to be easy-breezy delicious for others (the rest of us)!
First things first. Since we want you looking like a poke-tasting professional (those chefs will be begging for your experienced taste buds!), you’ll need to know what poke is: fish salad – a mainly Hawaiian dish – and it’s pronounced “poh-kay.” Got it? Good!
And to get in the Hawaiian spirit, what better spot for these festivities than the Bali Hai on Shelter Island!?

This day will feature tastings of poke and other island-inspired food and desserts. Chefs from all throughout San Diego participate, and special guests from Hawaii and even outside of the United States are known to make appearances!
In its 8th year, this Ono Yum I Love Poke competition is all about what the folks at Ono Yum stand for: the good life of Hawaii, the good life of California and the connections to the two!

Each ticket purchase includes the opportunity to taste offerings from chefs and restaurants participating in the event (30+).
