Adams Avenue Unplugged Brings 90 Live Acts to Three Neighborhoods
If you love discovering live music in unexpected places, Adams Avenue Unplugged is one of those can’t-miss San Diego days. This free musical walkabout takes over a two-mile stretch of Adams Avenue, filling restaurants, bars, coffee houses, and patios with live performances from morning into the afternoon.
With 90 musical acts spread across University Heights, Normal Heights, and parts of Kensington, there’s no single way to experience it. You can map out a plan or just wander and see where the music pulls you.

A Walkable Music Experience
Hosted by the Adams Avenue Business Association, this annual event turns everyday neighborhood spots into intimate stages. Step inside your favorite local café for an acoustic set, pop into a bar for a stripped-down performance, or catch outdoor acts on patios like Smitty’s Food Court and Lestat’s Coffeehouse.
It’s lively, it’s relaxed, and it’s full of those moments where you stumble onto a new favorite artist while grabbing a bite or drink. Music fans and foodies alike will appreciate how seamlessly the performances blend with the avenue’s rich neighborhood culture.

Main Stage + Community Beer Garden
While most of the event is free and open to the public, there’s one special ticketed performance: Alejandro Escovedo at the Main Stage. The historic Normal Heights United Church hosts the Main Stage along with the Community Beer Garden, where you can take advantage of a VIP Food and Drink Deal for $25.
It’s a great home base if you want to settle in for a headlining set before heading back out to explore more of the avenue.
See you there!
We’ll be wandering Adams, popping into cafés for acoustic sets and catching patio performances along the way. Grab your walking shoes and let the music lead the day.
