It’s About to Snow in City Heights!
The City Heights CDC Winter Extravaganza is bringing snow to San Diego with a whopping 40 tons of fresh powder! Get ready to trade your flip-flops for snow boots as this annual celebration transforms Teralta Park into an epic snow-covered playground that’ll make you forget you’re in sunny Southern California.
Making Memories in the Heart of the City
Bundle up for an afternoon of pure winter joy! While the kids channel their inner snow architects and perfect their snowball-throwing skills, an incredible lineup of local food vendors will keep everyone fueled for the festivities.
Your taste buds are in for a treat with mouthwatering specialties from neighborhood stars like Wicked Rare Beefs, Nandos’ Hot Box, Willie Wingz, Pacific Island Crave, and We Cookn.
More Than Just a Winter Celebration
This winter wonderland is extra special to our City Heights community. The park itself is a symbol of amazing transformation—evolving from a dividing interstate to becoming California’s first freeway lid in 2001, and now the coolest gathering spot where neighbors become friends.
The City Heights CDC, the creative force behind these frosty festivities, isn’t just sprinkling winter magic—they’re powering ahead with their mission of neighborhood support through programs like their Coordinated Eviction Prevention System, helping local families stay cozy in their homes this holiday season.
The celebration kicks into high gear with the CDC’s Toys 4 Tots campaign, spreading joy to 1,000 local children. Add in live entertainment and local vendors showcasing their holiday treasures, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for an unforgettable winter bash that celebrates everything we love about our neighborhood.
