Celebrate Pride and Progress at the Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast
San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community and allies will come together for a morning of unity, recognition, and inspiration at the 17th Annual Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast, held at the Town and Country Resort in Mission Valley.
Named in honor of Harvey Milk—the first openly gay elected official in California and a beacon of hope for the LGBTQ+ rights movement—the breakfast brings together hundreds of community members, advocates, leaders, and supporters to honor those continuing his legacy today.
It’s a powerful gathering that uplifts the voices shaping a more inclusive future, while celebrating the progress made across generations.
Honoring Bold Leadership and Courage
This year’s event will shine a light on trailblazers making a difference in the fight for equity and justice:
- Oregon Governor Tina Kotek will receive the Harvey Milk Lifetime Achievement Award for her historic role as the first openly lesbian governor in the U.S. and her decades-long commitment to public service and LGBTQ+ rights.
- The California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus will be recognized with the Harvey Milk Leadership Award for its bold, effective work in shaping policy and expanding protections for queer and trans Californians.
- San Diego Police Officer Lisa Hartman will be honored with the Assistant Chief Phil Collum Activist Award for her tireless work bridging understanding between law enforcement and the LGBTQ+ community.
