Marching Bands Battle it Out at Mt. Carmel’s Epic Tournament
The Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands is set to return for its 47th year, promising a showstopping spectacle of music and pageantry. This event stands as one of Southern California‘s largest and oldest high school marching band competitions, featuring 30 of the region’s finest bands.
Mt. Carmel High School in Rancho Penasquitos will transform into a musical battlefield, hosting both parade and field show competitions. The day’s schedule offers a diverse array of performances, starting with smaller bands taking the stage at Sundevil Stadium in the morning.
You can then enjoy a free parade band review in the school parking lot, providing an up-close look at the marching bands’ precision and flair.
The afternoon and evening will see larger bands commanding the field, filling Sundevil Stadium with captivating music, intricate choreography, and palpable school spirit. Throughout the day, you can take advantage of food, drink, and merchandise concessions to fuel your musical journey.
Making Beautiful Music for a Great Cause
Beyond the thrill of competition, this tournament serves a greater purpose. As the single largest fundraiser for Mt. Carmel’s music program, every ticket sold contributes to the school’s band, color guard, and orchestra programs through the Mt. Carmel Music Foundation.
It’s an opportunity for the community to support the next generation of musical talent while enjoying a day of exceptional performances.
