Take the Leap at San Diego’s 35th Annual Scripps Pier Jump

There are bucket list items, and then there’s jumping off Scripps Pier. The 35th Annual SDJG Pier Jump is one of San Diego’s most unique summer traditions – and the only time jumping from Scripps Pier is actually allowed. Whether you’re a first-timer, a returning jumper, or keeping up a family tradition, this is the one to be at.

Leap Off a San Diego Landmark

Check in at La Jolla Shores and make your way to Scripps Pier for one of two jump sessions. Space is limited, so this isn’t the kind of thing you want to leave until the last minute. The leap itself is a rush – and the view on the way down isn’t bad either.

A Jump That Gives Back

This is a fundraiser hosted by the Prevent Drowning Foundation of San Diego, with proceeds going toward Junior Lifeguard scholarships and free swim lessons for local youth. Every $50 raised funds 10 swim lessons for one child. Your $150 minimum donation goes a long way, and you get one of San Diego’s coolest experiences in return.

Before You Jump

Each participant requires a $150 minimum donation with ticket purchase. Online ticket sales close the day before at 5 PM, with remaining tickets available first-come, first-served at the event. T-shirts ($30) and trucker hats ($35) will be on sale on-site if you want to rep the occasion.

See you there!

35 years in and this one still draws a crowd for good reason. Lock in your spot before tickets sell out.

📆 Tuesday, July 28 | 8 AM – 4 PM (Jump sessions at 8 AM and 12 PM)
📍 8324 La Vereda, La Jolla

See you there, San Diego!
