Spend a Sunday at Cardiff Dog Days of Summer – North County’s Favorite Pet Event
The 21st Annual Cardiff Dog Days of Summer is back at Encinitas Community Park, and it’s shaping up to be the best edition yet.
Free and open to the public, the beloved North County tradition draws thousands of dog lovers, local vendors, rescue organizations, and community members for a full morning of pet-friendly fun – ocean breeze and all. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome and encouraged.

Everything Happening at the Park This Year
With over 100 vendors, live music, dog contests, children’s activities, and a Libation Lounge serving adult beverages, there’s plenty to keep everyone busy throughout the day. A few highlights worth knowing about:
- Rescue Row – presented by Rancho Coastal Humane Society, featuring adoptable pets from local rescue organizations and opportunities to learn more about animal welfare in the region
- Maker’s Market Row – handmade goods from regional artisans
- Dachshund and Corgi Races – new for 2026 and presented by VCA Animal Hospitals, adding a whole new level of friendly competition to the day
- Dog Contests – always a crowd favorite
- Children’s Activities – plenty to keep the little ones entertained
- Libation Lounge – a refreshing spot for the adults in the group

Cool Off in Style at the VIP Tent
Back for the second consecutive year, the VIP Tent presented by Carlsbad Pet and Feed is the place to be on a warm summer day.
For $35 per person or $60 for two, the VIP Experience includes access to a shaded, misted tent adjacent to the main stage, complimentary drinks and snacks, an exclusive swag bag for the first 100 VIP guests, and an opportunity drawing ticket. A worthwhile upgrade for a full day at the park.
