The Annual Cherry Blossom Festival Is Back For Its 18th Year
March is coming, which means it’s time for the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Japanese Friendship Garden (JFG) in Balboa Park – a can’t-miss opportunity to experience the natural beauty of our city’s jewel!
Cherry Blossom Festival VIP Tickets
Purchase your VIP tickets today and experience the Japanese custom of “hanami” – appreciating the beauty of cherry blossoms – with performances, vendors, sake, cherry blossoms, and exclusive JFG merchandise.
A VIP ticket gains access to the VIP entrance located at the Bamboo Gate. This entrance is limited to JFG Members and VIP Cherry Blossom Festival ticket holders.
2023 Cherry Blossom Festival Design Contest Winner
The contest winner’s design will be featured on all 2023 Cherry Blossom merchandise, including but not limited to t-shirts, sweatshirts and stickers. JFG loves celebrating hanami with the community and is excited to highlight an artist at it’s largest annual event.
Cosplay Contest
Participants will compete for awards based on two categories:
- PRESENTATION: Stage presence and costume appearance during the walk-on of the Cherry Blossom Cosplay Contest event.
- CRAFTSMANSHIP: Quality and accuracy of the costume. Contestants will need to bring a reference photo to leave with the judges. Work-in-progress photos are always recommended.
Awards will be given out for:
- Best in Theme- Cherry Blossom
- Best in Originality
- Best in Show
